On April 15, 2025, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced a significant update to the venue plan for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. This update includes the addition of iconic locations such as Dodger Stadium and Universal Studios Hollywood to the roster of event sites, bringing the total number of confirmed venues closer to completion.
Dodger Stadium is set to host baseball competitions, marking the sport’s return to the Olympic program. Universal Studios Hollywood will provide a unique backdrop for the Olympic debut of squash, with matches taking place in the park’s Courthouse Square.
Additional venue updates include Alamitos Beach in Long Beach for beach volleyball, Trestles Beach in San Clemente for surfing, and the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area for events like 3×3 basketball and modern pentathlon. These selections aim to showcase Southern California’s diverse landscapes and cultural landmarks.
